Mr. Dunn is a global and strategic initiative investor with 25 years of experience in private equity, alternative asset and international expansion investing.
Mr. Dunn spent approximately 14 years with the international private equity firm The Carlyle Group as a member of its Buyout team and other strategic international positions within the firm. During his tenure at the firm Mr. Dunn managed Carlyle’s first international presence based in Riyadh Saudi Arabia, initiated and was responsible for Carlyle’s first investment into the Turkish Market where he was named by the founders of the firm as the Vice Chairman of the Istanbul based local joint venture company, a partnership between Carlyle and the largest conglomerate in Turkey. Mr. Dunn was also appointed Chairman to Carlyle’s operating activities in Russia and was named to its Buyout Investment Committee. Mr. Dunn was responsible for the turnaround of Carlyle’s operating entity in Russia where he restructured the business and was responsible for the sale of the company to a European buyer.
Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Dunn was based in Milan Italy as a member of the CVC Capital Partners buyout team which focusses on buyouts on the European Continent. Mr. Dunn also spent time with the NYSE Specialist firm, Spear Leads and Kellogg (a Goldman Sachs Company) based in New York.
In 2005 Mr. Dunn was appointed to the US State Department Advisory Committee for International Economic Policy. During his tenure at Carlyle Mr. Dunn co-founded, with its Chairman Secretary Frank Carlucci, the US-Turkish Business Counsel. Mr. Dunn’s prior affiliations include the US-Russia and the US-Saudi Arabian Business Councils.
